The counsel

Most free-zone and many mainland licences now require audited financial statements annually, and the authorities enforce the deadline. An audit is straightforward when the underlying records are complete, and difficult when they are not. We prepare the file before the auditor arrives: trial balance and supporting schedules, reconciliations, contracts, related-party analysis, revenue recognition notes and confirmations from banks and counterparties. During fieldwork we answer queries directly, so management is not pulled away from the business. Where an independent auditor is required, we introduce approved firms whose fees and sector experience suit the company, and remain the point of coordination between them and the client. Findings are then translated into practical adjustments to the following year's process.
