The counsel

A trade licence permits you to operate under a name; it does not give you ownership of it. Protection comes from registration with the Ministry of Economy, and in the UAE the right belongs to whoever files first, not whoever traded first. We run clearance searches across the relevant Nice classes, advise on the classes that genuinely matter for current and planned activity, prepare and file the application, manage the publication and opposition period, and secure the certificate. Where a mark has international reach, we coordinate GCC and Madrid Protocol filings so protection follows the business rather than trailing behind it. Renewals are diarised, and infringement is addressed promptly through counsel where a mark is copied or challenged.
